Bellevue Civic Association
Board of
Directors Meeting
July 20, 2009
Ginter
Park Branch Library
The Meeting was
called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Eric Gregory, President.
There was
discussion regarding the continual unpicked-up trash in the alley
behind
Sanitech. Roy will contact CAPS to alert them to the problem
Roy gave an
update on the Roundabout, indicating the various authorities and
city
departments that have approved the plan, and that Councilman Hilbert
is still holding
his paper. Board members referred to other reports and papers
indicating the safety
of roundabouts. There was much discussion on how to proceed, and
what tact to take
that would not hinder future issues or needs from the city. The
Board came to no final
resolution.
Bert reported on
the Dog Park. There were several possible locations under
consideration.
It appears that a Bryan Park location is highly unlikely, although
the committee will continue
conversations. There is another location adjacent to the Ginter
Park Library, which offers
ample room, trees and parking. Roy offered to call his contact in
the Parks Department
and Bert will pursue the owner of the land near the library.
Carolyn made the
Traffic Committee Report. Several proposed plans were made for
Westbrook Ave and Bellevue Ave. The Board agreed to move forward
in supporting
the plans.
The Treasurer’s
Report was made by Phil. The balance as of June 30 was
$7165.58.
Anticipated balance for July is $7544.42.
The Proposed
Agenda for the General Meeting on August 18, 2009, was
reviewed.
It will be held in the parking lot at Once Upon a Grape. Greg will
contact Brian Corrigan
and ask him to give the crime report.
Other Business:
Roy reported that Westminster Canterbury wanted to help with an
additional water stop during the Marathon. Since there is now an
addition half-marathon,
they will be invited to assist.
The meeting was
adjourned at 8:00 p.m. In Attendance:
